Memorandum of Understanding Between the WBF and Peace & Sport

Thursday 6th April. In Aarhus – Denmark – on the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, at the presence of several officers and representatives both of the International Federations and the Olympic Family, the WBF President Gianarrigo Rona and the President-Founder of Peace & Sport Joȅl Bouzou signed a Memorandum of Understanding, joining their forces to promote Bridge as a tool for social development.
‘Peace and Sport, L’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport’, is an international organization based in Monaco. It was founded in 2007 under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. P&S was founded by Joël Bouzou, current President of the organization. Mr. Bouzou is an Olympic medallist and World champion in the modern pentathlon and President of the World Olympians Association.

In order to develop sporting activities to promote dialogue, youth integration and sustainable peace in the areas in which it operates worldwide, P&S develops effective partnerships with different stakeholders that can help it meet this goal.
Bridge for Peace is the official motto of the WBF and of all the bridge players everywhere in the world, who to defeat hatred, play the Card of Peace. One of the main purpose of the WBF is to promote, foster, promulgate and develop the sport of Bridge throughout the world and to support and encourage the development of youth bridge.
