The World Bridge Federation is saddened to hear of the death of Hiroyuki Hosoda. He had been Chairman of the Japan Contract Bridge League for the past 13 years, only resigning less than a week before his death.
Hiroyuki Hosoda was a bridge enthusiast himself as well as Chairman of JCBL and personally paid great attention to the middle class players who cannot win in open games. He has delivered Hosoda Cup (at his own account) for middle class players which has been held in many bridge clubs across the country.
He will be greatly missed and we send our condolences to his family and many friends and colleagues in the bridge world.
