Home Win for Chemla
Tzur-Albu Takes Women's Title

Paul Chemla earns his fourth world title. He is a current Bermuda Bowl Champion, and also in the French Team which won the Olympiad in 1980 in Valkenburg and 1992 in Salsomaggiore. He is a bridge professional who won the European Mixed Teams two weeks ago.

Apolinary Kowalski, 50, of Warsaw who took the silver won the World Mixed Pairs in 1994. He is a chemical engineer who also represented Poland at swimming.

Andrew Robson, 34, of London in third place won the World Junior Title in 1989 and the European Open Teams in 1991. He is a bridge professional.

Migri Tzur-Albu of Israel earns her first world title. She is a bridge professional who has represented Israel for many years in partnership with Ruth Levit-Porat who finished fourth. She has won the bronze twice in the European Ladies teams and taken gold in the European Union teams.

Veronique Bessis who took the silver has been a European Champion four times in '83, '85, '87 and '97. She is married to Michel Bessis.

Sandra Landy of Great Britain is a current European Champion and won the Venice Cup in 1981 and 1985.
