Europe in Control

Brazil defeated the co-holders, China, in one semi-final of the second IOC Grand Prix. They are opposed by Italy, who survived a few scares while defeating France in the other semifinal.

After the first session of 12 boards Italy lead by 73 IMPs and although there are still 48 boards to go, Brazil will find it difficult to retain their title.

The Women have completed forty-eight boards, and Europe have established a healthy 52 VP lead. The first series of matches were closely fought, but Europe dominated the second.
